Jesus mission statement in Luke 19 says, "The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost". En route to the cross, where Jesus would suffer and die for the sins of the world, he passed through Jericho and found a prime example of the people he came to save. He called Zachaeus by name and invited himself to dinner at his house. God wants us to see ourselves like Zachaeus, in need of saving grace.
