Questions:

  • William Wilberforce was advised by John Newton to stay in politics rather than leading a church. Are there areas that God has called you to in the world?
  • Are you experiencing the empowering of the Holy Spirit on a day-to-day basis?
  • How is God calling you?
  • How can we respond with faith to the radically-changed economic and social situation of our nation?
  • The first apostles considered remembering the poor to be an essential requirement of faithful gospel preaching and church planting (Galatians 2:1-10). Why do you think this was? How are you doing this?
  • The prophetic words Martin has heard around the country can be summarised as “prepare the church” for a continued and growing massive need for social care, locally and nationally. Food banks will be just the first of many instances. How can you prepare for this personally? How do you think the church should prepare?
