This week Sandy challenged us not to get cosy but reminded us of what Jesus has done for us and how that compels us to stand in the posture of Christ.

If we understand our identity in Christ, we can better love those around us, just as Christ loves us and as we do that, we display this amazing, supernatural love to the world we’re in.

Questions:

  • How did God speak to you on Sunday, what part of Sandy’s message did you connect with most and what did you find the most challenging?

  • Read Galatians 2:16, 20 -21 again and discuss the notion of ‘getting over yourself’ with your group. How do the Galatians verses and 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 help us understand what this looks like?

  • Sandy spoke about his cycling trip and the temptation to look for the easy option when the going gets tough – discuss what this might mean for your own Christian walk, are you a ‘commit-a-phobe’? Do you find it hard to trust other people? How do the verses in Acts 4:32-37 inspire us to persevere in our own walk and our walk with others?

  • If we know we’re loved by the Father and have the Holy Spirit to help us, what opportunities do you have either individually or as a small group to display that love?

  • The above isn’t easy and must understand we can’t do this in our own strength, split into smaller groups and pray for one another to know the Father’s love, His grace and forgiveness through Jesus and be field with the Holy Spirit.
